Day 20: Praying for Jesus the Bridegroom to be Revealed to the Bride

The Scriptures are clear about Jesus being the Bridegroom and the Church being His Bride. Jesus described one purpose of fasting as a display and discipline of yearning for the presence and return of the Bridegroom King. This mystery is deep. It requires men and women to search out the heart of Jesus Christ. He's the one who burns with jealous love for His Bride. He is moved by the weak efforts made by broken people to love Him. Not only is He our inheritance forever, we are His inheritance forever. This astounds me.

We move His heart. Sometimes we think He is ashamed of us. That's a lie. He is not disgusted with us. He is not embarrassed of us. Rather, He looks at us with desire because He values us. He loves us mercifully and tenderly. This affectionate love that resides in the heart of the powerful King and righteous Judge overwhelms me. I'm left in wonder gazing at His beauty. He truly is after the deepest parts of our hearts. Will we allow Him in? This is why we must pray for the bridal paradigm to be released among families. This revelation enables us to run to Him in times of weakness and failure, rather than to lesser lovers.

"The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete" (John 3:29).

"Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.

Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure - for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints"

(Revelation 19:6-8).

"You are the most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendour and majesty! . . . Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions; your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia. From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad; daughters of kings are among your ladies of honour; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir. Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: forget your people and your father's house, and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him" (Psalm 45:2-3, 7b-11).

"And Jesus said to them, 'Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them?

The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast"

(Matthew 9:15).

Cry out to God. Praise Him for His beauty. Tell Him that you're captivated by Him - there is no one more attractive. Give Him your full attention. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus the Bridegroom to you. Search the Scriptures. Find good teaching on it (https://mikebickle.org/watch/?guid=2014_02_07_1800_FCF_MB). Ask Him to prepare your heart to receive the intimate desires of Jesus, the Bridegroom. Allow Him to minister to you. Write down what He reveals to you. Receive His love.

Thank God for the revelation of His Word. Ask Holy Spirit to release a spirit of wisdom and revelation in churches throughout the land so they will know Jesus as the Bridegroom King. Ask Abba Father to release knowledge and understanding of the affections of the Bridegroom heart of Jesus Christ over churches in this region.

Let's awaken to prayer and believe a shift will come in the hearts of the Bride of Christ in this land.
