Day 16: Praying for Holy Spirit to Pour over Churches
PREMISE
Jesus invited all the thirsty to come to Him and drink. Jesus will release a river of living water - a torrent - out of anyone who believes in Him. He loves us with jealous affection. He delights in us. He patiently waits for us to search Him out and run to His open arms. He honours our free will. He reveals news facets of His nature and heart to those who search Him out. There's so much more of Him to experience. He is our very great reward. What are we waiting for? Run to Him! He wants to immerse us into His Spirit!

He loves to reveal Himself to those who seek Him. We need Him. We need the Holy Spirit to break through the dams of hardened hearts. We need to follow the Spirit and teachings of Jesus Christ. Imagine if churches were united, awakened, and empowered by the Spirit of the Living God! Let's ask the Father for this.
PROMISES
"In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy." Acts 2:17-18

"I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled." Luke 12:49
"I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire."
Matthew 3:11

"And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. . . If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" Luke 11:9-10, 13
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied." Matthew 5:6
PERSONAL
Cry out to God today. Ask Him for more of His presence in your home, marriage, and relationships. Write down anything He shows you and spend time asking for grace to experience Him. Ask Him to help you see Him rightly. Repent for any proud or self-promoting lens you've been seeing Him through.
Ask for the Spirit of prophecy, ask for the gift of prophecy. Ask for ears to hear what the Spirit is saying and eyes to see what the Spirit is doing. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Meditate on God's promises to meet every need of yours when you seek first His Kingdom and righteousness. Ask the Holy Spirit to convict hearts of sin. Command your soul to come into alignment with the Spirit and Word of God (like David did). Sit still before the Lord and soak in His presence. Ask Him to wash over you and cleanse you.
